Bangkok

Thai handicraft in making stone polished bronze wares or " Khan Long Hin "
Khan Long Hin of Ban Bu community in Bangkok Noi district, Bangkok is a legacy of making bronze wares which has existed since the Ayutthaya period. Khan Long Hin is all hand-made through out every step to produce highly intricate and valuable products
Khan Long Hin has solidified, stingy and endure. When rap it, sound will be loud. The manufacturing has 6 steps, the first raw materials tin and copper are mixed, step 2: hammering the bowl, step 3: grinding to level the rim "Phamon" is used to turn the bowl around to grind the rim bowl Dammar gum and tallow are mixed together before applying on Phamon, step 4: lathing, a sharp piece of steel is attached to the file in order to lathe the inner side of the bowl to be as thin as possible. Step 5: cutting and polishing, the sand paper attached to the spinner of the motor is used to rub the inner part of the bowl and step 6: carving, this is a new step which is added to create high value of the product.
Nowadays, Jeam Sangsaja at Ban Bu community is the only one place to produce Khan Long Hin in Thailand. An inheriting intellect heritage in cultural of handicraft from cultural invention in community by observing and start to do it is uniqueness of community and ancient object which is represent about historical community in long time ago.
Khan Long Hin of Ban Bu was registered as Thailand National Intangible Cultural Heritage under metal wares, ancient artisans by Department of Cultural Promotion, Ministry of Culture.

The Festival of Tourism and Traditional Craft villages is an annual event which is organized by Ha Noi People’s Committee. This event will last for 4 days in Mid October and be expected to host around 500 exhibitors from both domestic and international, which is comprised of travel agents, tour operators, hotels, airlines, tourism-related service establishments, craft guilds and culinerary presentation; cultural performance and traditional folk activities; press and media. This event is aimed at creating an ample avenue and good opportunity for all interested stakeholders in tourism and craft industries to jointly promote their own products but also get together for future cooperation.

JAKARTA's traditional crafts

The diversity evident in Indonesias 300 plus ethnic groups is reflected in the diversity of its art forms. Just as every ethnic group throughout the archipelago has its own languagedialect, cuisine, traditional dress and traditional homes, they have also developed their own textiles, ornaments, carvings, items for daily use and special celebration& The rich cultural heritage of art and handicrafts is one of Indonesias true national riches. From 17th century, the Javanese arts and culture has left its mark in Jakarta. The ancient beliefs and traditions still exist in the art forms. Influence of China and India are very much prominent in the art and crafts of Indonesia. Later Indonesian art and craft was also influences by the Arabs and the Europeans who visited the islands. You can feel the influence of the Javanese culture in the music. theater and dance in the Betawi culture, like seen in Wayang Kult Betawi and Lenong. Few of the arts forms that are influenced from Islam are The Japin/ Zapin dance. the Rebana and Gambus orchestra, The Tanjidor orchestra which is quite famous in Jakarta has its origin from the Dutch, The Chinese gave Jakarta various dance forms such as Cokek, Gambang and Kromong. You will find the influence of Bali culture in the Betawi Cokek dance shows. In Jakarta you can find well established culture and foreign art centers.
