Welcome to HANOI
Hanoi-City of thousand years
Hanoi is a city of contrasts. New high tower above crumbling buildings hundreds of years old. Mass traffic speeds past rows of gracious, aging tamarind trees. In Hanoi, so much has changed, and so fast, yet so much is the same.
Visitors to the city will find patches of tranquility among the carefully orchestrated chaos. Often it’s as easy as crossing the street to the nearby park or lake. Hanoi has plenty of both and behind the go-go-go nature of life, their quiet, reflective lifestyle. http://www.hanoitourism.gov.vn
TRADITIONAL ARTS
The Old Quarter is the perfect example of Hanoi’s dual nature. Founded as a small village some thousand years ago, Thang Long as it was, and is known, has stood the trials of time to become the capital of the country. Once every street of the city’s centre sold only one thing. Silver, maybe, or beef. These days, things are different, but even now, one can wander Hang Bac to see rows of jewelry shops among the noodle stands and knick-knack stores. Hanoi is a city of contrasts, but beyond that, it’s a city with a unique beauty and character.
CUISINE
Hanoi Cuisine is rushing to the forefront of the city’s renaissance and resurgence.
Voted as one of the world’s top five spots for dining, thanks to its unique street dishes, Hanoi ’s cup, or plate in this case, virtually runneth over gastronomic options. Vietnamese and French give way to Italian, Belgian, Japanese, Korean, Thai and Indian dishes.
