Birthday of Bao Sheng Ta-Di, God of Medicine

The Birthday Celebration of the god Bao-Sheng, on March 15th, in the Chinese calendar, incorporates worship activities and ceremonies with conventional theater, fire walking, lion dancing and firecrackers. It has become the most prolific traditional temple cultural activity in northern Taiwan.

2006 Taipei International Dragon Boat Festival

The races originated from a ceremony to offer sacrifice to the river god; then they became a memorial for the poet-patriot Chu Yuan. As we continue the tradition, each year more and more international teams compete. The Dragon Boat Championships are not only an athletic event and an opportunity to carry on cultural folklore, but also an opportunity for international exchange.

Taipei Arts Festival

The Taipei Arts Festival aims to foster the performing arts and the development of the performing arts industry, and to promote arts education and increase participation rates in arts and culture events. Taipei Bird-watching Fair

Kuandu Nature Park is a low-lying land area located southwest of the Kuandu Plain in Taipei Basin. Because of the diverse ecological environment, the area is home to numerous varieties of animals and plants. With the aid of wooded trails, bird-watching cabins and tour guides, Guandu Nature Park will open the gateway to nature and allow you to experience the natural world close-up. Every year-end, multiple activities are held here to promote environmental preservation as well as public education about this wetland.

Taipei New Year Party

Taipei City Government stages a New Year's Eve party in the Citizens' Square in front of City Hall, every year, where everyone gathers to welcome the New Year. A unique warm-up will begin with the "Taipei 101 Dress Illumination Show." Taipei 101, the tallest building in the world, will "partake" in the event by adjusting its exterior illuminations during the final countdown event.

Promenade and Bazaar for the New Year Festival

With the coming of the Chinese Lunar New Year Festival, an important holiday that families come together to celebrate, a splendid promenade will be on show in Tatung District of Taipei City. The promenade is specially designed as a comprehensive street bazaar. Visitors and local people come to the bazaar to buy all the different kinds of foods and decorations needed over the lunar new-year period.

Taipei Lantern Festival

Taipei Lantern Festival is a party, which people from all over the world attend as well as a time when Taipei citizens visit the temple for worship. It just seems to get bigger every year. The lanterns represent family union and prayers for blessings. Chinese customs, associated with Lantern Festival, include decorating lanterns, carrying them in parades and guessing lantern riddles. It is also a time for eating stuffed dumplings, which also signify family reunion.

Calla-lily Flower Show

Zhuzihu is a vegetable farming area located within a relatively moderate climate. Farmers are shifting to growing more profitable flowers and potted plants these past years. Calla-lilies are a major flower crop. Every year, the organizers are planning many activities related to the Calla-lily, including a flower exhibition, Calla-lily landscape design competition, DIY teaching, romantic concert, an ecological farm experience and a photograph competition in March.
