Fukuro Matsuri is an annual big event that takes place in the west square of Ikebukuro Station. The Main feature, Tokyo Yosakoi competition, comes on Sunday. A great number of teams from all over the country will present amazing dance.

TIFF was established in 1985, and celebrates its 19th anniversary this year. As one of the largest international film festivals in the world.TIFF has left a large footprint in the Japanese film industry and culture in general. This festival is held at Shibuya Bunkamura and Roppongi hills.

The Taipei Arts Festival aims to foster the performing arts and the development of the performing arts industry, and to promote arts education and increase participation rates in arts and culture events. It is hoped not only to bring together government, industry and private-sector resources, but also to build a cooperative network among performing arts groups from Taipei and other cities of the world. The Taipei Arts Festival seeks to "Oriental Avant-garde " by presenting multidisciplinary creations integrating traditional and modern elements, based on a different theme each year.

During the month of October, in conjunction with Armed Forces Day, a program on the theme depicting martial values will be displayed, which include a display of traditional and historic heirlooms of weapons such as the keris, swords, and samurai. There will be mass cleansing ceremonies, as well as a parade of dances by Young Choreographers.

At the end of the Ramadan fasting month, known as Lebaran, a series of events are staged around the theme of symbols and ceremonies connected with the Moslem Faith. This will include a Festival of Drums (beaten of mosques to call the faithful to prayers). Mass Prayers followed by a Festival of Islamic Music and dance from around Indonesia as well as bands and musicians performing the Indonesian pop "Dangdut" music.
